After surviving the effects of a war that lasted for much of her early childhood, After surviving the effects of a war that lasted for much of her early childhood, Eden finds safety and security in a new world established by her grandmother. With new laws and stringent views regarding males, she is able to Between Sand and Sea. The reason we must renew our minds with the Word is because, as ambassadors for Christ, we are to be living epistles, known and read by all men.
For us, the point of The Book is to know The Man, and to become like him. It is significant that the Old Testament was written primarily for Jesus, as the blueprint of his identity, his mission, and his destiny as the Redeemer of mankind. Whenever we read anything from Genesis to Malachi, we can remember that Jesus read the same thing, and seek to learn what he learned from it.
It was because he knew that his life depended upon it, as did the lives of all those Old Testament saints who died with the hope of his coming and fulfilling his mission as the Messiah so they would live again. Personally, it is scintillating to think of how real Abraham, Isaac, Moses, Joshua, Samuel, David, Elijah, Daniel, and all the other Old Testament heroes were to Jesus as he pored over the record of their lives in Scripture. I think it is fair to say that throughout the torture he suffered, and when the nails were being pounded into his hands and feet, a large part of what kept him going was the anticipation of meeting those men and women some of whom were also tortured face to face and rewarding them for their faith.
The revealed Word of God was his only rule of faith and practice. It was in the pages of the Hebrew Scriptures that Jesus found, and locked in on, who he was. It was his unshakeable sense of his identity that anchored him to the mission set before him. For Jesus, the bottom line was that he knew who he was, and it was that sense of being that engendered his precise and effectual doing the will of God throughout his life. God is our Father too, and He will do no less for you and me. Luke 16 He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom.
And he stood up to read.
It is Romans through Thessalonians that shows us who we are in Christ, and that we are righteous, sanctified, justified, and filled with his very nature. That gift of holy spirit is our inseparable connection with him as well as our power base to manifest his healing love to a dying world. That was the bedrock of his faith, and why he never failed to look to God for everything. As he walked out his earthly ministry all the way to the Cross, Jesus continually entrusted himself to God, and he knows how to help us do likewise. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.
May we grow into the same kind of trust that Jesus had in God, one godly thought at a time. Shepherds were some of the lowest of low in Davids time and David was at the bottom.
But David focused on the job at hand and applied himself. Little did he know what the future was going to bring. Because he became an expert with a slingshot and had learned how to stand his ground when facing charging lions and bears, he was well prepared when he took down a giant no one else would. And because he learned leadership from managing flocks of sheep when he became King he was ready to lead a nation.
Perhaps you are right where you are meant to be because there is something for you to learn, for your future. Most of these guys and a few women started off part-time, doing it while they were earning a salary at a job. Only gradually did they go full-time. Stream as a side hustle and ministry!
BTW, good for you! Thanks for sharing this post. My husband and I started out individually, then jointly, in a life of pure faith. Now we have more responsibility weighing on our shoulders with two kids, two car notes, a mortgage, bills, etc. Financially, we make enough to make ends meet, occasionally have to use the credit card. Average middle class American type stuff, but again, living is tight.
Thankfully, by the grace of God I believe, we are all healthy with no sort of true need for medical attention minus an occasional sick visit. Cost for out of pocket expense adds up quickly and can simply be unaffordable. There has been no change in our desire to live a life pleasing to the Lord.
It is very hard for me to put my foot down and make this decision about returning to school because of this.
1. Walk in the Spirit (Rom. 8:4)
Truly, my husband prefers for me to stay home and for him to be the sole provider. I have felt that I should stay home and just tend to my family, stick to those duties. I have also felt the Lord has spoken to me about the benefits of staying home, staying in a position of being able to just focus on family and grow in a relationship with Him, reaping wisdom for the family, and more.
I understand that we can trust in the Lord to provide in all ways, health, finances, whatever is to come or is needed. So am I wrong? This is my attempt to get counseling from fellow Christians. Thank you for all your responses in advance! Proverbs 31 Woman worked; she managed a clothing and real estate business , kept the farm in that time everyone grew produce and livestock for feeding themselves , raised the children. Her husband went out and serve the public.
She worked and made money for the family and God holds her in high esteem. Do what you feel you need to take care of your family. God is not going to condemn you while blessing her. If your friends criticize you, well they are not your judge, so tell them to read Proverbs He will bless you and your efforts, too.
God's Commitment to Abraham and His Descendants
Reading this post found the link to it in a newsletter from She Is Bold really humbled me. Such a deep question and so many people are struggling with it. I am in need of knowing whether to take out a loan for my residency permit for completing my studies abroad I already have some debt or whether I should apply in faith for my residency permit with my current bank statements. The application needs to prove that you can take care of yourself while living abroad.
Which sadly does not appear in my current bank statement. Fear of God being angry. And I realised that beneath all these fears is the belief that God is actually angry at me as a default. That I believe He needs to be appeased by obedience and I have to work it out on my own — if I will make the right decision or not. So the approach is totally punitive and vindictive. I struggle to accept and understand unconditional love. When it comes down to the core of it: this decision making process is so closely linked to the Love relationship between God and my heart that, it is in trusting that He knows my heart; that I learn to live in His love and trust my own self to be His child.
And I suppose then instead of understanding unconditional love through thinking, I begin to understand it through living and being it. Thank you for this article. God bless you for sharing it with us. The relationship between you and God and how He effects your decision making has been my exact struggle since I can remember.
I never want to do anything to upset Him or be out of His will, so I do nothing. In my devotional last night Blackaby God shared he would send someone for me to serve in some way so be attentive. Today I received a note of need from a long time but distant friend of mine who is in the ministry and struggling financially.
I am praying for guidance and in the meantime offering advice to my friend on how they may approach their creditor to offer a solution but have not yet offered the funds. I feel God is asking me to help my friend and testing my faith in Him and His desire for me to serve others above myself.
Faith or stupidity? What an awesome feeling to believe God has made a request for me to help because I can. But still the question: God is this you?? Pray, and keep praying. Pray about the amount and your own needs; then do what you know will leave you feeling peace and even joy.
But give when the Spirit so leads. I would like to go on this missions trip but I may or may not have an exam to write during that same time period. Have you prayed about it?

13. How to Pass God’s Tests (Genesis 22)
Worked hard, made great strides in the corporation and turned near disaster meetings into solid projects. Was in huge debt, tithed then let off tryinh to to get many things paid off.
Just as about to turn corner and return to tithe year to date of hire was let go. Had to pay back swell of payments owed. Year to date again discrepancy over timesheet, not on any projects.
